Shipping containers may be used as storage units on private property within the city limits under the following conditions:

(a)   The property owner must obtain a permit from the City of Mound City before placing a shipping container on their property. The permit fee is $25.00.

(b)   Each resident is allowed only one container per property plot.

(c)   The shipping container must be placed behind any building line established for the property.

(d)   The shipping container must be maintained in good condition, free from rust and visible damage.

(e)   The shipping container must not obstruct visibility for traffic or interfere with pedestrian access.

(f)   The use of shipping containers must not violate any zoning laws or other city ordinances.
