Article 1. Fire Limits
Fire limits of the City of Mound City, shall be as follows:
All territory lying between Fourth Street and Sixth Street and between the alley between Spruce Street and Main Street and the alley between Chestnut Street and Main Street. In other words: Bounded on the east by Fourth Street, on the north by the alley between Spruce Street and Main Street, on the west by Sixth Street, on the south by the alley between Chestnut Street and Main Street, and any place within such boundary shall be deemed to be within the fire limits as met by this article.

It shall be unlawful for any person to construct within the fire limits of the City of Mound City any building, except exclusively for residential purposes, except a building constructed of brick, stone, metal or concrete, with a fire proof roof; Provided, That this article shall be construed to prohibit the construction of warehouses, at the rear of business buildings, which shall be constructed of brick, stone, or metal.

It shall be unlawful to move any building from outside the fire limits into said fire limits or from one lot in the fire limits to any other lot within the fire limits, unless such building is constructed as prescribed in Section 4-102. No building shall be erected within said fire limits where the walls shall be less than twelve inches in thickness if built of stone, less than eight inches in thickness if built of brick, or less than six inches in thickness if built of concrete.
